Race Timetable and Draw

Race Timetable

Paper versions of the Race Timetable are being sent to each competing club.

Timetable of racing (HTML). First race at 0930.

Draw Principles

The decision on whether to hold 7 boat races or not will be made after entries have closed, and the overall size of the regatta is known. The draw principles for both 6 and 7 boat races are shown below. Note that all Finals (except for straight Finals) will be 6 boat events, regardless of whether 7 boat heats have been held.

Heats - 6 boat races

Fewer than 4 entries 4 entries 5 or 6 entries 7 entries 8 to 12 entries 13 to 18 entries

Heats - 7 boat races

Fewer than 4 entries 4 entries 5 to 7 entries 8 to 14 entries 15 to 21 entries

Finals - lane allocations

The lane allocation for all Finals (except straight Finals) is determined by each crew's finish position and time in their Semi-finals. Under normal weather conditions, the crews will be "spearheaded" so that the Semi-final winners are in the centre lanes. In the event of unfair weather conditions, then the lane allocation will be arranged so that the Semi-final winners are in the most sheltered lanes. The decision on the fairness of the weather conditions, and hence the lane allocation strategy rests with the Race Committee. Where events have more than one round, then this same lane allocation procedure will be followed for intermediate rounds.
